Gazebo Types & Styles

Gazebos are architectural structures that add beauty and elegance to open surroundings like gardens and parks. They come in different styles and sizes. Choosing a gazebo style actually depends a lot on where you plan to build it. If you plan to build one in your garden, getting a Victorian-style gazebo is most recommended because of its romantic and old-fashioned feel. Also, choosing a gazebo style depends on the type of garden you have.

If you have a Zen-type or a minimalist garden, then a bamboo or Japanese-minimalist gazebo is the more suitable style to use. If you want to build one near your pool, a resort-type gazebo is more appropriate. You can even install a hot tub in it to make it look more like a resort. Choosing the right gazebo style also depends on whether you want it to be the focal point or if you want it to simply blend with the background and be one with the natural environment. Do remember that season and weather changes can affect the surrounding foliage, so make sure you consider these things before determining where to place the gazebo and which style is best.  Below are some gazebo styles you can consider:

Old French-style gazebos

Old French-style gazebos are classic gazebos perfect for year-round use.  They have an old world feel to them. They are fully-enclosed structures with French windows and French doors. The windows that surround them allow natural light to enter and brighten up the space. They can be used as breakfast rooms or home offices for those who want quiet and beautiful surroundings while working.

Bali-style gazebos

Bali-style gazebos are inspired by traditional Japanese architecture that incorporates minimalist and natural design. They are perfect places for relaxation in hot, summer afternoons, getting massages, and installing hot tubs. Bali-style gazebos look great when installed near swimming pools or saunas.

Victorian-style gazebos

Victorian-style gazebos are designed to be the focal points of any open space like public parks and gardens. They feature two-tiered pagoda roof styles, decorative arched brackets, attractive spandrels, and hand-cut railings. Victorian-style gazebos look elegant, classic, and romantic.

Monterey-style gazebos

Monterey-style gazebos have clean, fine, and classic lines ideal for blending in with the architecture of homes or any garden landscape. They are commonly painted in white to get the traditional American home design and feel.

Rustic-style gazebos

Rustic-style gazebos are usually made of old wood that gives them their warm and friendly appeal.  They are the perfect venues for relaxing with friends and families or for hanging a hammock. They are also well-suited in pool sides and commercial establishments like cafes.
